SUSAN SUTTON
the artist and her art
Author: Marion Pescud
This book follows the journey of artist Susan Sutton, from the aspirations of her early years to the maturity of acclaimed recognition.
Her works of art showcase Victoria's Southwestern coast along the Great Ocean Road, from Geelong to Lorne and beyond, with paintings that convey accuracy and a masterful understanding of the region, capturing the essence of the landscape and the culture of the people.
The first half of the book deals with early artistic achievements, education, teaching career, family plus the Geelong/Lorne business interests of Art/craft retailing and Tourist Accommodation. There was a creative 'explosion' which embraced East Timor connections, the acceptance of significant commissions and involvements in national awards.
The second half is a visual feast of two decades of Sutton paintings reproduced in full colour.
